What’s the expression “it is the thing that it is”? Simply what does that expression mean exactly?

Before I understood the deeper specification of this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru inside the lotus position floating higher than the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that will take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Since this really is my last life on earth along with the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the Course In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.

What’s the IT that we’re currently talking about here? Based on the Course in Miracles, It’s truth, specifically God’s truth. Why do imperative that you emphasize it’s God’s truth? Because God’s facts are not offered to interpretations whereas a human’s simple truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have result in a myriad of religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion like a “system of thought, feeling, and action that is shared by way of a group understanding that provides members an object of devotion.”

Who devised the device of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? In line with the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is to come back to a perfect condition of being. There is no thought or action in the condition of being, you merely are. What ought not to be forgotten may be the underlying thread of all religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite kids of God.

Put another way, “it is the thing that it is” could be rewritten to “God’s love may be the only truth which is absolute” and this truth knows no bounds which is timeless.
