There are the classic Who, What, When, Where and Why within this comic thriller.

The cast of characters are settling looking for their new situations. They think that nothing much must be happening to upset that world, yet, they may be surprisingly wrong.

This tale of innuendo, gossip, lies, misdirection and intrigue discovers authentically as a comedy of errors and misinformation. The premise is straightforward enough and simply subtle enough to give a good base.

Ma Foster provides housing for her “girls,” Bella, Chloe and Kitty. The three in residence are missing. Ma produces a big problem over it. She even goes to the local newspaper once the local police tend not to act on her fears. She does catch the attention of the out-of-work detective, the modern editor in the local newspaper and finally the city itself.

The central character is Henrietta, who was named after the town in question, Henryetta, Oklahoma. Henrietta offers quite a bit choosing her nowadays, she’s got moved to the big city, OKC, OK and landed employment together with the local t.v. station. Although this won’t help your journalistic career, it does get her during Events and events of the afternoon. Another main characters are Gigi Carpenter, a feminist reporter turned editor in the local newspaper. Max (Maximo) Morgan a would-be gum shoe private eye which has a penchant for old murder mysteries, especially Dashiel Hammet’s “Fat Man” tales. Then Deano DeBoffo because “reality” show director attempting to shot a pilot for the new show. Finally, Shatner Lapp, as a newsman, publisher, editor and all-round good old boy, concerns town to assist in his Princeton buddy’s newspaper problems.

Once these folks try the gossip laden townsfolk, the misinformation flies. With more rumors then this facts probably warrant, a few missing girls become more and more objects of speculation and intrigue while almost no factual details are given. The rumors start mild because missing girls are simply searched for by Ma and Maximo.

These rumors and gossip finally resulted in an important “reporter war” between Shat and Gigi. The misinformation here becomes the avalanche cascading over the news therefore the townspeople.
