Double cut burrs are employed on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aluminium, soft steel and also for all non-metal materials for example stone, plastics, hardwood, and ceramic. This cut has more cutting edges and will remove material faster.

Double-cut leaves a smoother finish than single-cut on account of producing smaller chips since they cut away the pad. Use double-cut for medium-light stock removal, deburring, fine finishing, cleaning, smooth finishes, and creating smaller chips. Double cut carbide burrs are the hottest and work for most applications.
