Have you ever heard the expression “it is what it is”? Simply what does that expression mean exactly?

Before I understood the deeper meaning of this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru from the lotus position floating higher than the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that will take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Seeing as how that is my last life on earth and also the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting this course In Miracles is needed me clarify its meaning.

What is the IT that we’re talking about here? In accordance with the Course in Miracles, IT is truth, specifically God’s truth. Why is it vital that you emphasize that it is God’s truth? Because God’s simple truth is not available to interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have cause a numerous religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion like a “system of thought, feeling, and action that is shared by the group knowning that gives the members a thing of devotion.”

Who devised the system of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? Based on the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is usually to go back to a great state of being. There is no thought or action from the state of being, you merely are. What ought not to be forgotten is the underlying thread of all religions: God is creator, God is love and we’re all perfect and infinite kids of God.
