Sex with animals is eternally fascinating. Fault our brain that registers disgust also seems to accommodate our primal instincts, with bestiality, often there is the intoxicating fear that at the bottom of the revulsion is our own libido. We’ve internalised enough Freud to find out, or think we realize, that that which you repress is exactly what we would like. Nevertheless the fascination is also aesthetic and intellectual – bestiality is indeed unnatural we can’t help but admire its artistic duality.

There’s enough of it happening in western art – through the escapades of Zeus to A Midsummer Nights Dream to Beauty along with the Beast to Edward Albee’s 2002 have fun playing the Goat. It is a staple desire our civilisation. And Woody Allen’s movie Whatever you Always aspired to Know About Sex proves that sex with sheep is fundamentally funny. But what about those people to whom it’s not a poetic culmination or a comic set-piece, but a real sexual drive? How can they manage society’s disgust, and exactly how do they actually ‘do it’?
