Why People Love Animals
Throughout history, no species has been as captivated by its fellow creatures as people. We now have hunted animals, eaten them, raised them, bred them, domesticated them, drawn them, composed songs and poetry on them, and loved them for millennia. But why? What’s behind this intense fascination we’ve always had to creatures, whether fuzzy and cute or scary and dangerous–or both?
The thrilling excitment. Nothing compares using the thrill you get you may notice a large animal in their habitat initially. We love to the joy of encountering bears, big cats, deer, eagles, owls, along with other herbivores and predators. Even though it’s ill-advised to achieve this within the wild, we love watch them unseen, our breath caught within our throats and our hearts full of wonder. Just seeing the majesty and power of these remarkable creatures once can be quite a life-changing experience. Another thing that makes an encounter having a large animal in the wild so memorable would be the fact it’s extremely rare–very few people contain the privilege of encountering these animals anywhere, not to say within the wild. We like to check out zoos to determine big animals we’d never see within the wild, from a safe standpoint behind glass or bars. Even seeing them in captivity can provide us exactly the same a sense excitement.
Curiosity. What do animals do when we are really not looking? How must they behave when they’re happy, sad, scared, angry, or hungry? Just how do they hunt, what do they eat, and just what do they really teach us about existing? So many of us are thirsty for know-how about animals as well as their lives. We should discover how they’re similar from us and how they’re different. Maybe when we knew all you should know about other animals, we’re able to better understand ourselves being a species–and use a clearer picture of where we originated. We like to zoos as well as other animal facilities for that opportunity they offer us to learn about animals and discover them close-up–some zoos even let you shadow a zookeeper to get a day. It is difficult to get anybody who wouldn’t like to own an opportunity to find out more on animals both rare and various.
A feeling of wonder. Growing up, did you have a very favorite animal–one that seemed so beautiful, outlandish, powerful, or special you were convinced it had to have magical powers? Some people fell in love with the expressive appeal of horses, some people with bizarre and outlandish animals like elephants and giraffes, and several people with powerful hunters like lions or wolves. We’ve always secretly wondered what it really could be want to run just like a cheetah, fly just like an eagle, swing just like a monkey, or swim like a dolphin. In the biggest whales to the tiniest amoebas, animals usually have filled us having a a sense wonder. With their physical abilities often far beyond ours, animals actually do have particular powers. Being a species, animals have inspired us to learn to fly in planes and fall under the ocean in submarines–but we never can take action using the grace of a bird or even a fish. Maybe this is why more and more people care about protecting animals from pollution and poaching. As we lost the truly great number of animal species on our planet, we’d kill humanity’s a sense wonder and inspiration, as well.
Setting up a connection. A lot of us have loved a pet–whether your dog, the cat, a horse, a parakeet, or a hamster. Anyone who’s ever owned a dog will advise you that animals have feelings and emotions, their own intelligence, and their own strategy for communicating–and that they can possessed a strong emotional reference to their pet. We like that connection we now have with this pets, and a lot of individuals believe you can foster a link with any animal, regardless of how different from us. We dream about forging bonds with lions and tigers, getting to know monkeys and horses, and communicating with dolphins and whales. We love to each time a fierce bird of prey lands on our arm without hesitation, whenever a cat cuddles trustingly within our laps, whenever a horse nickers to all of us like he’s greeting an old friend. Many animal-lovers will advise you that animals make wonderful friends–they don’t lie, they just don’t judge, and they also don’t hate. It doesn’t matter the reason you are craving that hitting the ground with a pet, most inside our species do. When we’re communicating with a pet, we humans feel less alone.
