How weddings have changed in the decades! From a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; an easy wedding car to expensive and big wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.

While we’re talking about the latter, wedding speeches continue to be a fundamental part of a married relationship and guests do enjoy hearing them, talking about them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.

Food could be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches prior to the meal in addition to their is actually a delay of A quarter-hour to 1.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The marriage speeches act as the transition from your meal for the dancing (without a penny happening after the meal, folks are expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared about the Bride & Groom then they understand they’re able to stand up, move about, come out, take a stroll, go to the bar…)
It can be hard for fogeys of the Bride & Groom to speak in public, as most of them wouldn’t be used of it. So, they could, whenever they so wished, speak prior to the / their meal.
