How weddings have changed within the decades! From the handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight marriage ceremony members; an easy wedding car to expensive and big wedding cars; three course meals in order to six course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.

While we’re talking about aforementioned, wedding speeches remain a fundamental part of being married and guests do look ahead to hearing them, talking about them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.

We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered prior to the meal, throughout the meal after the meal, however it is of an strong opinion the wedding speeches should be delivered after the meal. I realize that for most wedding party speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father in the father of the groom speech (the 5 main speakers), they will prefer to hold the wedding speeches prior to meal, to enable them to enjoy their meal (some of them are paying for it!). However, is going on the invited guests and how most of them (and even the wedding venue staff) would prefer the marriage speeches to get delivered following the meal for a lot of reasons, a few of which include:

The invited guests happen to be fed and watered and aren’t playing wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which could be so prior to the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival at the wedding venue)
Food could be cooked and served in the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches prior to the meal in addition to their is actually a delay of Quarter-hour one.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches act as the transition in the meal on the dancing (with nothing happening after the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ being shared concerning the Bride & Groom and they do know they can stand up, move around, come out, take a stroll, see a bar…)
It’s a challenge for fogeys of the Bride & Groom to talk in public places, as most of them may not be used of it. So, they may, whenever they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.

There should still be some form of formal wedding speech(es) after the meal…
